High street favourite Zara has committed to a serious detox in response to a recent Greenpeace campaign.
Zara, the Spanish label founded in 1975 has made an almighty promise that by 2020 it will have removed all releases of hazardous chemicals from its all of it’s products and supply chain.
The decision from the brand came swiftly after the publishing of “Toxic Threads: The Big Fashion Stitch-Up” which has lead over 700 people to protest against Zara since.
Victoria’s Secret has taken most of the heat over this issue with the claim that the amount of phthalates found in their lingerie is dangerously high and that if the same levels were to be found in a toy, it would be banned in the EU.
This latest news brings hope that soon other high street retailers will be able to join the detox, to make sure fashion without pollution.
