Sound a little odd? We thought so too.
Being touted as London’s most Carnivorous cocktail bar, The Meat Bar at Shaka Zulu, Camden will serve meat-infused cocktails. Some of the drinks on the menu kind of make sense, for example the Bloody Bacon that’s made with a 24 hour mature Bloddy Mary mix and bacon vodka (!?), garnished with celery, crispy smoked bacon and a skewer of soft cheese and cherry tomatoes.
However we’re not so sure about the Meatequita, which is tequila reposado infused with chorizo, vegetable juice, balsamic vinegar,smoked sea salt pepper and port. If you’re getting really into your meat by now you can get this one with a side of beef biltong strips and chorizo.
Then get ready for it to get a little weirder with a fish cocktail, the Wheeling Salmon, made with smoked salmon-infused vodka with lemon pepper and ice, served with a host of traditional martini accompaniments including smoked salmon, stuffed baby red peppers and olives.
If you’ve still not had your meat fill then fear not because Shaka Zulu has created a whole new bar menu to go with the meaty drinks, that inclues, more meat. Options such as platters of cured meats and oysters have been chosen to perfectly complement the flavours of the infused blends.
