It’s 14th June today, which means it’s the World Health Organisation’s seventh annual World Blood Donor Day.
People from all over the world will be using the day to spread awareness of the need for blood donations, and to thank those who have already donated.
The theme of this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign is “Every blood donor is a hero.”
The campaign is held on the 14th June as it’s the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, who created the ABO blood group system, which he won a Nobel Prize for.
