A woman has been killed in Mayfair today after what is thought to be a window frame fell on her.

The accident happened earlier today near Five Hanover Square where a wooden window frame is said to have fallen from a nearby crane onto those walking underneath. The woman was said to have been struck with the frame and killed.

At the moment there’s no finer details but plenty of people have taken to Twitter to express their upset at the incident with one tweeter saying, ‘Horrible horrible scenes here at Hanover Square! Poor woman’.

The 8, 25 and 55 bus routes are currently on delay.
