Here’s the new trailer for Winnie, a new powerful film about the wife of Nelson Mandela.

Jennifer Hudson takes the lead as the wife of one of the most influential men in history and by the looks of this trailer she does a brilliant job of portraying Winnie Mandela’s struggles.

The film follows Winnie as she goes from being a social worker to meeting Mandela and helping to support his campaign against apartheid. It follows the story of him being put in jail and her being tried as a terrorist as well as her work to keep his dream alive while he was locked away.

Also starring Terrence Howard as her husband the film is based on a biography by Anne Marie du Preez Bezdrob and although there’s not an official release date for the film yet there’s no doubt it’s going to be a front runner come awards season.
