This afternoon we’ve heard the news that Jeff Wadlow will directing the Kick-Ass sequel but with work on the film due to start later this summer with Chloe Moretz reprise her role as Hit-Girl?
According to reports today the plan is to commence filming on Kick-Ass 2 as early as August and Wadlow and his team are said to be trying to tie down the films main stars Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and of course Moretz who wowed audiences as the bad ass Hit-Girl when she was still in her early teen years.
However there is some speculation about whether Moretz will have the time to return for the sequel because of her hugely hectic filming schedule. As one of the most sought after young actresses going she’s already attached to a number of films being released this year including Hick and the remake of the 1976 horror film Carrie where Moretz will play the leading character.
Filming on Carrie is meant to kick off in June and no matter how talented she is we very much doubt she can film two massive blockbusters side-by-side so unless one of the schedules shifts to accommodate the other it doesn’t look very likely that Moretz will be able to return.
Obviously it’s all just speculation at the moment and we’ll keep an eye out for further news but Kick-Ass without arguably its best character? We’re not so sure we’d be interested.
