Ever since they reformed back in 2009 we’ve been waiting patiently for Blur to put out some new material and it looks like we might have found out why they haven’t.
According to reports today the reason that Blur haven’t put out a new album could be all down to the bands frontman Damon Albarn.
When the band split back in 2002 it was widely believed that Albarn’s feud with the bands guitarist Graham Coxon was to blame and now it seems like Albarn is causing even more rifts within the band.
William Orbit, who was working as the producer on the bands new material, has revealed that Blur had gone back into the studio recently but that sessions quickly ended.
He’s quoted as saying that the new material was sounding ‘amazing’ but that Albarn apparently halted recordings for reasons not explained to the rest of the band. Orbit is quoted as saying that while Albarn is brilliant and talented he ‘is kinda a shit to the rest of Blur’.
So there you have it. It looks like Albarn could be the reason that we wont be hearing anything new from Blur any time soon.
