Whistles has launched its first Limited Edition collection. All about exclusivity, the 70 designs will be produced in small batches of between 20 and 50 pieces. It won’t even be available in all the stores since they’ve decided to limit stockists to a select few stores from September.
There are already some pieces online, though. As you might expect, the prices reflect the exclusive ethos and quality fabrics used, which include leather, cashmere and silk.
For instance, this leather top and skirt are £250 each.
We’ve already fallen slightly in love with this pyjama-style fishnet bow print blouse and matching trousers for a not-too-tear-inducing £125 a pop.
Whistles chief executive Jane Shepherdson described the collection as ‘the epitome of what Whistles is all about – effortless luxury’. She said, “We decided to stretch our creative wings this year and allow ourselves the luxury of designing a small tightly-edited collection of what we consider to be the most covetable pieces of the season, in the most luxurious and desirable fabrics.”
She’s not wrong when it comes to our favourite piece so far, this gorgeous coat. The hem is trimmed with a massive strip of black fur (faux of course; Whistles are pretty hot on sourcing ethical materials) but it is a bit of an investment at £395.
The first time you can get your mitts on it in store will at the South Molton Street boutique as part of Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out event on 6 September. (Subtle) elbows at the ready!
