There are several places around Angel Islington Tube worth a visit, all a short walk away from one another.
Camden Passage -
Confusingly named Camden Passage is full of lovely bits on market stalls at the weekend, especially some really large scotch eggs. It also has some great home and vintage shops. Also down there are two lovely ice cream shops but our favourite is Zucono with great flavours like pistachio and Nutella it’s a real treat whatever the weather.
The other side heading towards Upper Street there is the much loved Desperados. There are two along this strip and we would suggest to you go to the one furthest form the tube where you get a sombrero if it is your birthday and shots with your bill.
Behind all of this is the Albion pub. Just like a country pub with a lovely outdoor garden and a cracking roast. If it’s sunny book a table though – it gets full fast.
John Salt is a recent, Americana inspired addition to the area that serves up great chicken on a brick and has both a smart-ish restaurant and a more relaxed bar.
The jewel in Islington’s crown in our eyes in Cyber Candy, full of American and Japanese imports that range form every flavour of pop tart through to Root Beer and locusts in candy.
If you fancy a burrito head to Chillangos who not only do amazing burritos but also the most amazing margaritas we’ve ever had form a slushy machine.
Just behind the shopping arcade you will find Chapel Market. Here on a weekend there are a ton of old school food stalls selling fish, bread and more. There is also a strange taxidermy and general oddities shop if you take a right after the coffee shop. It’s worth a look if you can get in the door, it’s that rammed with stuff.
