Today is National Rum Day over in America but just because we’re not from the US doesn’t mean we have to miss out does it?
Rum can technically be enjoyed on any day, there are no rules but seeing as today is a special day dedicated to the stuff we thought we’d tell you about a few of the best London bars to drink rum in…
Artesian Bar: Found inside the Langham Hotel this is the bar too if you fancy your drink with a side order of glamour. There’s up to 50 different types of the spirit to pick from and if you don’t fancy it neat or with a mixer you could try one of their many rum infused cocktails.
Floridita: Found on Wardour Street this bar has the biggest collection of rum in London with over 400 bottles in stock so you’re bound to find at least one that’s to your tasting. There’s various events on each night from cabaret to Cuban-inspired DJ nights so there’s plenty to keep you entertained while you knock back drinks.
Cottons: This Caribbean Restaurant is found on Chalk Farm Road in Camden and is the best place to head if you want an all round drink and food experience. The venues owner Ian Burrell is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable men about the spirit in the UK and so you can guarantee that all of their meals will compliment your tipple perfectly.
Wax Jambu: So dedicated to the spirit is this Upper Street bar that they even have a Rum Cove hidden upstairs. You can enjoy your drink in candle light while trying 70 different types of the spirit from all over the world. They also offer Caribbean rum cocktails which are adapted and changed almost every month.
