We all have our favourites, they are usually either Byron or The Diner maybe (though this chain really has gone down in the past few years), Ping Pong, Hawksmor. But where do you go in London when you want something totally different to gorge upon? We’re going to find as many odd things for you to eat as possible in eat area of London, first up Camden.
You get 10 points for each one of the below you have tried and whoever gets to 70 we’ll buy you a burger and we need pictures of you eating each.
Crocodile and Zebra.
South African restaurant Shaka Zulu serves up Crocodile cigars as a starter, a meat that is a sort of cross between game and wild boar. The cigars are like bit fat spring rolls with a sausage of meat inside along with some vegetables.
The Zebra comes in steak form and is pretty much like a buttery steak. Currently it is on the menu with a celeric mash.
Chicken Feet and Duck Tongue
At Yum Cha Silk And Spice there are a huge number of unusual things on the menu, we have picked our favourite two being Chinese Wine Marinated Cold Chicken Feet and Spicy Duck Tounge from their Dim Sum lunch menu.
Sesame Ice Cream
Moving away from the meat options is Sesame Ice Cream from Bento on Parkway. This stuff is the stuff of dreams. It may look like a little ball of concrete but anyone that likes those honey sesame snaps will die for this stuff.
Spicy Cola
Masala Zone also on Parkway has a spicy cola on the menu. It is basically Coke with a choice selection of spices in it that kind of float about on the top. You have to keep mixing them in. When we tried this we had a bit of a stomach ache after but you never know, you might love it.
Liquid Nitrogen Icecream
In Camden market there is the Chin Chin Lab. It is Europe’s first liquid nitrogen ice cream parlour. Icecream is made infront of you in a wave of smoke as liquid nitrogen is poured over the mixture to make it freeze. This results is brilliantly strong flavours and a decent brain freeze.
