The London indie band My Tiger My Timing are about to release their new album, Celeste this July. The first track that’s floated to the digital surface below is Wasteland and we thought who better to take a look at it than one of our mums?
All through our younger years we were told by our parents to ‘keep it down’ or asked what the utter crap was that we were listening too. So we figure, lets hand over the platform and see what they think.
Sue, on My Tiger My Timing’s Wasteland :
The whole song I find a bit irritating with a repetitive dance music theme that is drowning out her voice. She has a light and airy voice bit like Lenka. The best bit is when the guitar solo comes in!
I haven’t got a clue what she’s singing about but suppose it’s ok if your in the right mood for it!! Nothing to get excited about.
I Don’t like the picture of the little girl with the gun though. She looks very young and would be impresionable what’s their message there? Or are they just sensationalising? In my view the cover is in bad taste and it’s exploitative.
