For as long as it’s been around the Ugg Boot has stayed pretty much exactly the same, rounded toe and fluffy on the inside, that is, until now.
Ugg Australia have just released their new lookbook and the pieces on offer are barely recognisable. In place of the comfy ugg boot are high heeled peep toe shoes, heeled boots and wedges. The new collection is said to be inspired by Italian resort town of Lake Como with the heels on the shoes being made out of the type of wood that is usually made to make guitars.
There’s suede designs, lace, denim and woven styles as well as some ostrich leather clutches. Could this be Ugg turning a corner and expanding finally moving away from a style that’s become the uniform of Essex girls (and boys) everywhere? It certainly looks that way.
