With the Olympics drawing ever closer, it’s unsurprising that there’s been a parallel explosion in sportswear across the globe over the last few months. No longer the too-casual uniform of sweaty exercise freaks or pap-shy celebrities, sportswear has now been upgraded to a gold medal style status.
However, just because it might look sporty, doesn’t mean that it’s actually suitable to do sports in. I mean, would you actually go for a gruelling, sweaty 10-mile run in a piece of kit that cost more than £20/30? Tack on prices into the hundreds and it’s looking even more unlikely.
Whether it’s Stella McCartney‘s pricey Adidas jacket or Chalayan‘s holographic spray-on leggings, these sports luxe looks might look good, but be warned: they won’t last long at the gym!
Here’s our top pick of the most unsuitable sportswear designs out there.
Clothes by Acne, Luc Fusaro, Chalayan, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, COS, Michael Kors and Maison Martin Margiela.
