‘The Notebook‘ director, Nick Cassavetes, has caused controversy by bringing out a new film in which the central character has an incestuous relationship with her brother. ‘Yellow‘ tells the story of Mary Holmes, a young woman with emotional problems and an addiction to drugs.
The film was shown at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend, where critics were keen to quiz the famous director over his storyline.
In defence of incestuous relationships, Cassavetes said; ‘if you’re not having kids- who gives a damn? Love who you want. Isn’t that what we say?’
‘Yellow’ was completed after three years work and stars Cassavetes former wife Heather. We think it looks kind of interesting- certainly a far cry from ‘The Notebook’.
