The fountains in Trafalgar Square will be turned off this weekend in line with this weeks hosepipe ban.
As you may know if you keep an eye on the news a hosepipe ban was implemented today and is expected to stay around until at least the Autumn. The ban comes after one of the driest winters on record left the UK with a water shortage and the good people of Trafalgar Square will be doing their bit to save supplies by turning off the famous fountains.
The hosepipe ban is the first one London has experienced since 2006 when they were banned for over six months. Other fountains around London including Venus in Sloane Square and the ones in Hanover Square, Horseferry Road and Bessborough Gardens will also be turned off over the coming days when current stocks have run out.
