Tower Bridge has been given a bit of a spruce up in time for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games this week with the installation of a new light display.
The move is just another in a long line of redesigns and revamps implemented by London councils in order to get the city looking swanky and new in time for the influx of tourists that are due to hit the capital over the coming weeks.
Previously Tower Bridge was lit up by static lights but they’ve now been replaced with bulbs which change colour and intensity throughout the night in order to highlight the bridges architectural features.
As well as glowing white over the weekend for the Jubilee various light displays will be carried out on the bridge during key points during the Olympics so if you’re passing by in the next few days and see the lights flickering on and off it’s just because the engineers are testing them out before the big events.
