An option to get away from the Olympics this weekend with a pop up showing of Quadrophenia at the Pop Cinema in Portobello.
Pop Cinema is a Pop-Up Digital Microplex Cinema that is not for profit and sits under the Westway so if you pop down you can go to the new Aklam Road Market before also.
The whole cinema has been make using recycled and reclaimed items from around the area, Portobello and Ladbroke Grove.
Tomorrow (28th July) Pop Cinema will be showing cult film Quadrophenia. The film is not a shot in the dark, it has specifically been chosen to help the cause of Cooke’s traditional Pie and Mash Shop which started in 1899 but moved to their current site, 48 Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush in 1934.
The Pie and Mash shop is featured in Quadrophenia and now they need your help as the shop is under pressure from the council to be bulldozed so that developers can build flats.
Of course this would be a great shame so Cooke’s Traditional Pie & Mash shop in Shepherd’s Bush needs your help.
It will cost you a voluntary donation of £4, of course that is voluntary so you don’t actually have to pay but that wouldn’t be the nicest thing and there is no need to pre-book. Of course
