New to Tabernacle street this week is the independent bike shop, Tokyobike full of a candy box of different coloured bikes.

Tokyobike began in 2002 in Yanaka Tokyo designing bikes just for Tokyo. If the bikes are designed to be great in the busy city of Tokyo then surely the must be great for London too?

The wheels are 650mm wide so smaller than a normal bike wheel and the frames are slim , compact and made from steel which makes them easy to lift on and off pavements etc.

This will be Tokyo’s first store in London and at the same time one will be opening up in Berlin. They have also partnered with 6 artists here to design 6 bikes with one bike to win on the launch!

Artists involved are A.four / Lucas Price, Alex Daw, Mike Guppy, Simon Memel, Tom Pearson and Soju Tanaka.

Tokyobike will be at 87-89 Tabernacle Street, London, EC2A 4BA
