Animal Collective: Honeycomb
Ever experimental Animal Collective are once again giving iTunes genre’s a metaphorical middle finger in the shape of their latest track, released today; “Honeycomb.” This track guarantees to have you chanting “HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY I’M THROUGH WITH THIS AND YOU MULL IT OVER” on repeat in your head before it’s even finished. That’s if you’ve Googled the lyrics. It might be a great track, but f*ck knows what they’re saying. Nevertheless, “Honeycomb” is awesome.
Dry The River: No Rest
“No Rest” (available digitally and on vinyl from today) is the latest release from folk-rock sweethearts Dry The River. Despite regularly being tarred with the “You’re just, like, so average” brush, it’s hard not to be sucked in, swaying from side to side with your Zippo in the air, by this hopelessly romantic track. “No Rest” definitely works.
Elton John vs PNAU: Good Morning To The Night
Elton John’s voice echoing through every sound system in Ibiza may well sound as appealing as it does appalling, but after one listen, it’s obvious that this track (which has even been described as “The soundtrack to summer”) will have every Tom Dick and Harry in every club from Romford to Ayia Napa yelling through a locked jaw “OH MY GOD MAN I F*CKING LOVE THIS SONG!!!”
Go on, Elton!
