After it’s huge Box Office success earlier this year it looks like a sequel to the John le Carré novel adaption, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy could be about to be given the go ahead.
Speaking last night at the Gotham Independent Film awards in New York one of the films stars, Gary Oldman revealed that the films British production company, Working Title are currently in talks to reveal some kind of sequel. Speaking to ComingSoon.net Oldman said, ‘I think they’re whispering now that they might do Smiley’s People… Not so much as a sequel, because there’s a book in the middle actually, but we’ve set up the world and we’ll revisit.’ By referencing Smiley’s People Oldman is referring to the final novel in le Carré’s Karla trilogy which see’s George Smiley called out from retirement for the last time to investigate the death of one of his old agents.
