We’ve been gettings hints and various other bits and pieces of new material from The xx but today we’ve got our hands on their next single, Chained and it’s accompanying video.

After winning the Mercury Music Prize back in 2010 The xx went on to become the band to be seen listening to. Their stripped back, deeply emotional sound gained them fans in their thousands and they soon went on to become a house hold name.

However since releasing their debut prize winning self-titled album and releasing a few singles things went pretty quiet for the duo. Marking their return to the music scene last month with new track Angels the band proved that they were back with a bang.

This new track is taken from their soon to be released second album Coexist which will be with us on 10th September and has a track listing that looks like this…

At the moment the band don’t have any plans to put on any more live shows but no doubt there will be an announcement soon. You’ll have to be quick though, their come back shows sold out in a matter of minutes.
