The Weeknd has announced that he is going to put out an official release for the first time.
Despite putting out three critically acclaimed mixtapes in 2011 alone the Toronto based music maker has never put out a release through an official channel. But that is all about to change as later this year The Weeknd will re-release all three of his mixtapes, Thursday, House of Balloons and Echoes of Silence.
One of the best things about this guy is that he managed to gain himself a global following, that included a performance at this summers Wireless festival alongside Drake, without ever putting an official release out. However this move will probably be a good one, opening him up to a whole new audience who wont be familiar with his tracks.
Expect to see this man on all the Ones To Watch for 2013 lists.
