New York based band The Walkman have announced they will be releasing a new album in June.
Due for release on 4th June The Walkman’s seventh studio album will be called Heaven and was recorded along side Fleet Foxes and The Shins producer Phil Ek. Heaven is the follow up to the bands 2012 release Lisbon and includes back vocals from Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold on two of the tracks.
Speaking about the new album the bands front man Hamilton Leithauser said, ‘We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement…’ with fellow band mate Paul Maroon adding, ‘There can be something brittle about our sound. He [Phil Ek] made it just a little bit warmer, a little bit stronger. When I play it in my car, it sounds strong, which I love.’
