One of the four existing versions of Edvard Munch’s infamous art work, The Scream goes on display in London today.
From today (13th April) The Scream will be on display at Sotheby’s for the first time in the UK and only the second time it’s ever gone on public display in the world. The art work was created along with three other versions by Munch back in the 1890s and the one going on display at Sotheby’s is the only version still in private hands.
The Scream is on display in London ahead of it being auctioned off in New York in May where it is expected to fetch somewhere in the region of £50 million with all the proceeds going to a museum that is dedicated to Munch himself.
The Scream will be on displaying until 18th April.
