The trailer for The Perks of Being a Wallflower has been released.
The film will hitting UK screens in early October, and is based on the coming-of-age novel of the same name by Stephen Chbosky.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower tells the story of Charlie (Logan Lerman), a new freshman at high school, who needs a bit of help coming out of his shell. Luckily he soon meets extraverts Sam (Emma Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller), two seniors that show him how to live life to the full.
We’ve had a watch of the trailer, and we can’t say it looks like it’s going to offer us anything particularly original on the ‘coming-of-age’ genre, though it’s nice to see Ezra Miller playing a cheerful teenager, as opposed to his usual typecasting as ‘the scary one’ (We Need to Talk About Kevin and Afterschool), and Emma Watson out of her cloak.
