It’s no secret that there has been a huge rise in nail varnish popularity over the past couple of years.

The Chanel nail colours started to sell out, then all the nail art came along with people like Wah Nails etc and now it seems there is a race to have the most expensive nail varnish on sale.

Currently this black option is topping the expensive nail varnish charts at $250,000 a pot. We think it will be a while until someone tops that. Wow. And it’s not even that nice. We could find a glittery black that would look the same down camden market in the dress up shop for £1.99.

So what’s so different about this polish? Well the price tag is because of the ingredients (that you wouldn’t know about unless you were told). The varnish, called The Black Diamond King is the most expensive nail varnish in the world because it contains 267 carats of black diamonds (I’ll be routing through the bins of anyone that buys this looking for their nail varnish remover pads for sure).

The Black Diamond King is made by a jeweler, Azature, who wanted to transfer the luxury and quality of their jewelry into a nail polish. Surely they could have put a little more effort into the bottle?
