It’s been years in the making but we’re finally getting a first look at the new film from Joaquin Phoenix, The Master.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson the first clip from The Master has been released just a few hours before more footage is expected to screen at Cannes Film Festival and is above for you to check out.
The Master has the backing of The Weinstein Company and also has Philip Seymour Hoffman in a leading role so we’re already tipping big things for this film. So what’s it all about? It follows a man in the wake of World War II (Hoffman) who decides to start a faith-based organisation taking a wayward drifter (Phoenix) as his right hand man.
Cult religions are always a good basis for a film particularly because everyone has an opinion on them and we’ll be honest the concept of the film fascinates us. This first look footage is very cleverly put together and we’re already looking forward to seeing more.
The Master should be released here in the UK around October time.
