Fans of The Maccabees are going to absolutely love this new video made of the band performing a special live set by Xbox Kinect.

Not that you can really tell from the video but it’s supposed to be 3D created by filming the Brighton band while they performed on 10 Kinect cameras which were placed all around them.

The gig saw The Maccabees performing three tracks from their hugely successful third studio album Given To The Wild, Heave, Go and Grew Up At Midnight.

Being asked to take part in something like this by a brand as big as Xbox just proves how well the band are doing for themselves at the moment. Despite their first two albums containing some absolute belters they’ve always remained a fairly niche band and were never able to bust through to the mainstream. However their most recent album has changed all that and we’re expecting to see some very, very big things from this band over the rest of 2012.
