“Cor, look at the cast on that” mutter builders watching the trailer for crime thriller The Iceman.

Michael Shannon, Ray Liotta, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Chris Evans and even David Schwimmer are sharing the screen in a movie that deals with the murky yet true story of a a contract killer’s morally dubious activities.

The film’s apparent attempts to both humanise and glamourise a real hitman (who has his own Wikipedia entry) could have it treading on controversial territory. Hopefully director Ariel Vromen will turn this tension into something compelling.

The Iceman will be in UK cinemas from June 7th.
