A few weeks ago we told you that a third, and hopefully final, installment of the Human Centipede franchise was in the pipe line but today we hear news that the production could have run into trouble.
As we reported the third Human Centipede film would see both evil scientists from the last two films, Dieter Laser and Laurence Harvey returning alongside the films director Tom Six who has given himself a starring role. Well today we’ve heard the news that Laser wants to pull out of filming and Six is said to be furious and taking out a law suit against him.
Six took to his Twitter to say, ‘BREAKING NEWS: MY COMPANY WILL SUE ACTOR DIETER LASER!!! WORLDWIDE PRESS RELEASE WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY’ (note the capitals, he’s obviously angry) this was followed by said press release which was put out by Ilona Six, Tom’s sister. The laughable statement read like this:
‘Because of the success of The Human Centipede, it seems that Mr Dieter Laser’s ego has grown to laughably big proportions. First signing the contract and rating the Human Centipede 3 script as fantastic, and then demanding his own unacceptable script changes, and now refusing to play the part only seven weeks prior to shooting. Six Entertainment Company will start legal action against Dieter Laser. Tom Six says not to worry; principal photography will be postponed and will take place later this year.’
Laser was then quick to rebuff saying that he wants to pull out of filming because he couldn’t get to grips with the new character saying that he, ‘didn’t like the realization at all, couldn’t identify with the character the way it was written, and developed immediately and enthusiastically, in a day and night marathon, a version full of concrete and practical suggestions which would enable me to play the lead full throttle’.
So there you have it. Will the third Human Centipede continue without one of his main ‘stars’ or was this all just a massive publicity stunt? Our money is on the latter.
