Do you miss the old London Routemasters? We do. And this is why we love the Honesty shop that has popped up at St Katharine Docks.
Housed in a 50 year old double decker the Honesty Shop sells a variety of British-made crafts, there are gardening tools, kitchen ware, knitwear (including some really nice chunky socks from Devon and more.
It’s always nice to shop somewhere a little different and what will all the festive shopping options that are popping up you might as well make an alt shopping day of it.
The name, The Honesty Shop comes from the fact that there is no shopkeeper on the bus. Items are priced but it is down to you to leave the correct amount for the items you want.
You put your money inside an envelope and post it in a post box on the bus. It’s a really nice idea but a cynical person would say that they will probably ring in with a loss – however we hope that everyone is nice and honest about their purchases and that’s not the case.
10% of profits go to Compassion in World Farming, a charity that campaigns against cruel factory farming practices.
You can find The Honesty Shop at St Katharine Docks for three months.
