It’s a long been a question that’s plagued music lovers globally but now NME reckon they know what the greatest song of the last 60 years is.
To celebrate their 60th birthday NME have compiled a list of the best 100 songs to be released in this time and they reckon that Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart tops the poll. The track was originally released in 1979 and was written about Ian Curtis’ marriage troubles with wife Deborah.
The full list includes entries from the likes of The Smiths, Azealia Banks (yeah we’re not sure either), The Beatles and even Dizzee Rascal.
But what do you reckon? Is Love Will Tear Us Apart really the best song of the last 60 years? Take a listen to the track and let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
