Do you remember a few months ago when you couldn’t look on WJ without seeing some new footage, images or viral campaigns from The Dark Knight Rises? Well things have been a bit quietly recently… until now.

Until now The Dark Knight Rises has concentrated on building up our excitement with incredible trailers and cryptic documents but it’s never been given an official synopsis, until now. Warner owned FilmCells have released the first official Dark Knight Rises synopsis and you can read it below, although be ware it obviously contains spoilers…

‘When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.’

Set for release on 20th July The Dark Knight Rises stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Anna Hathaway, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman and you can see all of our coverage from the film here.
