Israeli street artists, The Broken Fingaz crew are a graffiti collective and they have just put on their first exhibition in London.
The work is a breath of fresh air with no real political undertones or ‘street’ type messages. This is art for arts sake and it is bright, fun, sometimes a little disturbing, comic book-ish art that we think is great.
The colours in all the work are just brilliant too, with so much going on in many of the pieces that you can stare at them for ages. One things for sure, if we had one of those big offices where we could pay someone to do a huge mural on the wall? We would draft in these guys.
The exhibition, called the ‘Crazy Eye Hotel’ was at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in East London in April and although it has now passed the crew still have a great online shop full of prints and T-shirts that you can get for your very own.
Their show was a great success with 1000 people through the door on the opening day which means it probably won’t be long until the boys are back.
They said of their time in the UK exhibiting that it was great to be around people that didn’t think they were crazy talking about street art or music that they liked and in an interview with Sabotage Times they said “Everyone dresses really pretty, it makes you dirtier. But after the show we’re gonna buy new clothes.”
