Another BRIT Awards has come and gone. Emeli Sande seems to have been the main winner of the night, so doubt but to the disappointment of all those that tweeted their boredom at the part she played in the Olympic opening ceremony.
Emeli Sandé walked away with the MasterCard British Album Award as well as British Female Award. Jack did pretty well to have interviewed both Emeli Sande and multiple BRIT winner Ben Howard pretty early on in the game.
The new Global Success Award went to One Direction.
Damien Hirst designed the trophy this year meaning winners went home with a spotty Brit in their bags.
Things we learnt this year included that Lana Del Rey sees her life as ‘art’, when accepting her trphy she thanked her label Polydor for its help in “turning my life into art” she continued her heartfelt speech saying “Thank you so much. I live here and I love it and I wrote my record here.” (She has also clearly sacked her stylist).
James Corden is scrubbing up well these days. He seems to put that little bit more effort in each time he hosts an award show.
Muse always put on a great live show – the band started proceedings with an explosive performance featuring a huge orchestra and fireworks, setting the tone for the evening.
