We don’t know how they do it but the guys over at Tate are coming up with some great ideas recently, their most recent one is a new Magic Ball app.

The app is quite simple. It works in a similar way to a Magic 8 ball but when you shake your phone it uses location-based technology to show you art work that is somehow linked to your surroundings.

The app monitors several different factors including your location, time of day, noise levels and even the weather to search through it’s huge archive of art and offer you something that best fits where you are at the time. Each image also comes with a short bit of information about it so that you can learn more about what you’re seeing.

The app is totally free from the Apple app store.
