Moniker Art Fair returns today to run from the 11th-14th October. Now in it’s 3rd year, the art fair that runs alongside Frieze has established itself as one of London’s top alternative art events.
This year Boxfresh are getting involved in the proceedings and sponsoring part of the event that takes place in Shoreditch.
The Moniker Art Fair attracts some of the most renowned and talked about artists in London as well as galleries and curators from the cutting edge of today’s contemporary art market and the finer side of the street art movement.
This year the art fair will be an installation based only edition, featuring designated artist project spaces combined with a commercial element. Each space will be individually curated, presenting an alternative to the traditional art fair format.
The wealth of work on show will include pieces like the widely acclaimed Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman (image below) who’s art form fuses calligraphy and graffiti seamlessly and whose huge mural you have probably seen in Shoreditch lately. There will also be work from Mark McClure whose abstract sculpture is constructed from found materials and the colourful work of Casey Gray whose paintings takes inspirations from that of 17 th century Flemish still life, urban culture and visuals associated with electronic music.
