Here’s something to warm your heart this Friday morning, the first trailer for Vanessa Redgrave and Gemma Arterton’s new film, Song for Marion.
Fresh from the announcement that the film will debut at the Toronto Film Festival later this month Entertainment One have decided to give the rest of us the first look trailer.
Song for Marion tells the story of a rather grumpy old man called Arthur who’s life is turned upside down when his wife (played by Redgrave) becomes terminally ill. His wife however still finds joy performing with her local OAP choir who are more likely to be heard singing Lets Talk About Sex than anything you probably hear your granny humming.
However when she becomes to ill to perform she asks Arthur to take her place for the groups next big performance and along with the choir leading (Arterton) he is forced to begin enjoying life again.
It’s a lovely trailer full of black comedy and moments that will have you wiping a solitary tear from your eye. The film will be released in the UK towards the end of the year.
