Alice Temperley’s long-awaited highstreet collection launched at John Lewis this month and has already announced record sales.
Somerset by Alice Temperley became the fastest selling brand in John Lewis’s history when it took eleven times the usual sales of a new brand on its opening day, Tuesday 4th September, hitting its weekly sales target by mid-afternoon.
Phewee, that’s what we call a good day on the shop floor. But we’re not surprised. The collection, shown off in a campaign with model Lily Donaldson, is pure gorgeous.
The designer’s trademark floaty country manor style shines through. We particularly love this Downton Abbey style long bronze number.
If swanning about at balls is part of your day job (please sir, can we have some of your day job?) then this is also a corker. Check out the fern and flower lace detail on this dress, sadly a little out of our range at £249, particularly considering we’d only be flouncing about the flat in it.
Funnily enough, it was the brand’s most expensive piece, a shearling coat for £999, which proved a best seller on the launch day; half the online allocation was snapped up instantly and sizes keep selling out.
A second drop of Somerset by Alice Temperley pieces is due in early October. Expect jacquard knits, more accessories and Christmas party dresses. We can’t wait.
