It’s currently trending on Twitter but until this morning we weren’t sure what Facebook Stories actually was.

Naturally if enough people are taking about it on Twitter then it’s going to be of interest to most of us so here goes…

Facebook Stories was newly launched this week and is the social networks new user-generated website. The idea is to highlight how people all over the globe are using the website in new and fascinating ways to share their stories.

The idea is that from now on each month will have a theme (August’s is ‘Remembering’) and the website will host stories, videos, playlists, status’ and pictures from users from all over the world that best portray that theme.

Our favourite story on this months page is one about a guy from India called Mayank Sharma who use Facebook to help rebuild his memories after he suffered memory loss following a severe illness. Genius.

It’s heart warming, it’s fun and it’s also kind of pointless but we reckon it could well catch on.
