We didn’t realise that the Snow White story had a second part but none-the-less a sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman has today been given the go ahead by Warner.
Following the films opening weekend success (which saw it grossing $55 million at the US Box Office) the studio have decided to give the thumbs up to a second film obviously hoping that it can emulate the success of it’s predecessor.
The follow up is expected to see Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth returning to the leading roles however there’s already speculation that Warner will be ditching the films director Rupert Sanders in favour of someone who has a bit more of a grip on the story line and how to translate it on screen.
Seems like a typical case of cashing in to us and we can’t help but find it a bit odd that Snow White is being given a sequel but this film was always very different from the original Disney tale so hopefully they’ll find a way to make it work.
