Hook & The Twin have been building up to something big for a while and by the sounds of things, this is it. ‘Tribes’ is their new single out on Sept 12th at a price everyone can agree with. Free. Head to their website for more details. ‘Tribes’ is the first single from their forthcoming 10-track debut album, to be released early 2012.
Recorded underneath a Nigerian ministry complex with Andy Ramsay (Stereolab), and mixed by rising producer Jim Anderson (Anna Calvi, Cold Specks), the single has an essence of Young Knives with a splash of Metronomy and Hot Hot Heat to make things interesting. Foot stomping, intriguing and hook laden, ‘Tribes’ takes the band to a new level of production and is sure to enlist more fans to join Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank and Steve Lamacq. The song is accompanied by a surreal video directed by Nasheed Faruqi – definitely worth a watch!
The band are Marcus Efstratiou and Tom Havelock who’s shows as a two piece have been rewarded with critical acclaim. They’ve now enlisted the help of multi-instrumentalist Peter Roberts from doom-soul troupe Cold Specks to create a bigger and bolder live sound.
‘Tribes’ will be launched on Tuesday September 13th in London, at The Lexington, Pentonville Rd so don’t miss live what might be your new favorite single.
