Due to the Olympics shops will now be able to open later on Sundays over the period of the games.
Trading laws in England and Wales have been relaxed over the Olympics so that shops can try to get in as much retailing as humanly possible while we have a load of visitors over.
If you work in a shop and are about to have a moan about being given more hours don’t worry, you can opt out of these extra hours if you want to but if you are anything like most you’ll probably be thankful for the extra shifts.
Currently shops of more than 280 square metres (3,000 square feet) can open for a maximum of six hours on a Sunday, and only between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 but now the times will be unlimited.
