The first trailer for Seven Psychopaths has landed, giving fans a glimpse of what the writer/director of In Bruges did next.

Starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walkern and Woody Harrelson amongst others, it is painted as a crime comedy caper involving dog kidnapping and various Kerazy Karakters in the trailer, which also features liberal use of the stop-music-insert-joke formula of editing. The only thing separating it from a trailer for an Adam Sandler movie is the sound of a record player’s needle being suddenly knocked off at each cut.

Martin McDonagh‘s In Bruges was an enjoyable dark comedy that won critical plaudits even if it did rip off The Dumb Waiter. His follow up seems to be decidedly less Pinter-esque, although with such a high quality cast it should be difficult to misstep too dramatically.
