Starring Keira Knightley and Steve Carell we’ve been looking forward to seeing more from Seeking a Friend for the End of the World since we got the first trailer back in February. Now we’ve got some new pictures from the film.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is actually one of two ‘end of the world’ type films with Abel Ferrara’s 4:44 Last Day On Earth but this one takes on a rather more light hearted look at how people would cope if the end of the world was looming.
Carell plays a man who is seeking a meaningful connection before the humanity is wiped out forever while Knightley plays his loner neighbour who is equally in need of a friend. Together they spend their last few weeks together searching for his long lost love and her family.
While Knightley and Carell making an unlikely pairing we think they work really well together and it’s nice to see such a strong supporting cast around them with Adam Brody, William Peterson, Gillian Jacobs and Melanie Lynskey also starring.
These new pictures from the film show stills of some of the most memorable bits as well as a look at director Lorene Scafaria doing his thing.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is released in the UK at some point in June or July although an exact date has yet to be announced.
