Are you a fan of The Killers? Well you might be interested to know that they’re planning on playing a free gig in September at the HMV Forum.

The one-off gig will take place on 10th September and will be broadcast live on Radio 1 in celebration of their new album Battle Born. And while the idea is to obviously debut the new tracks they’ll definitely be playing some of their better known hits too.

It’s been four years since we heard any new material from The Killers who’s last album Day & Age was released in 2008. However if you were expecting the new tracks to be anything like the old stuff you may be disappointed. Talking in an interview recently lead singer Brandon Flowers said that until now they’d been hiding their real sound but apparently the band are now finally ready to show their real sound to the world.

If you want to be at the gig you’ll need to tune into Radio 1 as they’ll be giving away the tickets to competition winners.
