It’s finally Saturday. The weather is utterly miserable and so we thought we’d cheer you up by recommending you some London based goodness to get your teeth sunk into today and tonight.
Day:
Are you an art fan? Go and find out for yourself if you think Damien Hirst is a true artist who just a fraudster at his new exhibition at Tate Modern. (Here)
East London’s gay alternative film festival, Fringe! launched this week so head down and check out any of the 30 films that they’re playing over the weekend. (Here)
Ever watched a film and thought ‘I can do better!’ well nows the chance. Head to Apollo Piccadilly at 10:30am today for the 11th International London Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film. You’ll be given a title, a line of dialogue and some props and you’ll be able to make your own film based around it. (Here)
Night:
Looking for somewhere to eat and drink the night away that’s a little different to standard London fare? Why not try out new opening La Bodega Negra Bar & Restaurant. Based under a sex shop in Soho it doesn’t get much more different than that. (Here)
Why not head to Doodle Bar, one of the coolest places around at the moment. It’s a warehouse type space with porta cabins for toilets and small crates for chairs and they serve up some great drinks from their brick bar. (Here)
Alternatively if the sun decides to pop his hat on this evening don’t forget the legendary Queen of Hoxton rooftop opened this week. (Here)
