Another new London December restaurant opening is Salon in Brixton. Due to open on the 6th December Salon is run by Nicholas Balfe (ex-head chef at Brunswick House), his first solo venture into culinary London.

Salon, you’ll be pleased to hear, will not search pizza nor friend chicken nor burgers, it calls itself a dining room and the food served with in that dining room is just as you would expect.

Offering affordable menus Salon can be found above the Cannon & Cannon deli on Market Row and will offer British sharing plates on Fridays and Saturdays. Every Thursday there is a set menu giving the place more of a supper-club vibe. Salon will work with Cannon & Cannon which is nice because it means that it you love someone on the menu you can most likely pop downstairs and get some for yourself to take home and experiment with.

Catching our eyes are the razor clams with sobrasada and pheasant, cauliflower and pine.
