Here’s an interesting, if slightly disgusting, photography project of rotten food by Australian artist Klaus Pichler.
The project has been inspired by a United Nations report that found that one third of the food produced in the world goes to waste. To highlight the issue Pichler has photographed foods like eggs, strawberries, milk and chicken which have all gone off and despite the mould and green tinges he’s actually managed to make rotting food look actually quite artistic.
The One Third project describes the connection between individual wastage of food and globalized food production and ‘goes past the sell by date in order to document the full dimensions of global food waste.
